stars & stripes {printable}

Happy Flag Day!  Feeling patriotic, and a bit nostalgic…

Growing up in CNY, there was a lot of Revolutionary War-time landmarks and history to take in…Fort Stanwix, the Mohawk River, General Herkimer’s House, the Oriskany Battlefield…and every year there was a live orchestra performance at the Fort.  People would come with blankets and chairs, baskets and coolers, and sit out to enjoy 18th Century “pops” music performed by the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra.  And the grand finale always consisted of cannons, bells, and muskets going off.  It was quite a big deal as a kid.  I loved that night every year and to this day wish I could go back.  My personal favorite of the night was John Philip Sousa’s “Stars & Stripes Forever”.  I don’t know why.  I just love(d) it.

In the spirit of Sousa, I made a “Stars & Stripes Forever” printable to share.
