herb planter upcycle {diy}

September 13, 2013

Metallic is cool.  Geometric shapes are cooler.  And in my World, DIY is the coolest.  Let’s put all three together and get creative…

I was strolling through Target one day and saw that this herb planter was $1.50.  I immediately thought that it would make a fun addition to a dinner party or buffet…or a pretty succulent planter…or a desk-top accessory…once it was dressed up a little bit.  No need to break out your arsenal of stencils and paint here (although you can).  I just used some metallic markers and hand painted on these designs.

I did some triangles, dots, and bricks:

Fun, right!?!?!  I think the unlimited possibilities are what make this DIY great.  The plastic has a nice texture so drawing, painting, or decoupage would all work fabulously.  Make it your own to match your theme or decor!

    So cute! Love your patterns, but that you could do anything you want with it really.
