painted citrus boxes {upcylce}

February 21, 2014

I am sharing, yet again, another fabulous up cycle for you.  Last week I posted how to make plain old boxes fabulous with fabric. This week I am sharing how to up cycle those awesome wooden boxes that your clementines or other citrus might come in.

I have been holding on to these, and putting them to good use, for forever! They are sized nicely and sturdy enough, and have been holding on to my precious craft supplies for a while. The only problem was the bright blue “clementine” label on the outside. Sorta clashed with my other colors and decor. We took care of that, didn’t we.

I convinced my husband to cut the awkward tops of of the boxes. Then I broke all of the spray painting rules and painted them in 27° weather.  (I am kind of impatient.)

With some stamp embellishments, some fabric, and some ribbon, I have some awesome boxes that look nice and function very well too!

You can see some boxes hold my ribbon…

And some boxes hold my paint supplies.

I am SO happy I finally have up cycled some of these.  It has been on my to-do for a while!

Thanks for stopping by!

    Oh my goodness I love these! I saw these little orange boxes at the grocery store a few weeks ago, I should have bought one or three. How did the oranges taste? I was worried to buy them, since some citrus tastes bad. I adore these, awesome job!

      Thank you Heather. I actually buy clementines about once a week when they aren’t outrageously priced. My kids LOVE them and my son would eat them one after another if I let him. Sweet, juicy, and super easy to peel.
