studded hairbands {diy}

March 21, 2014

My daughter has wild, long and beautiful blonde, but wild hair.  I have found that one of the only things that keeps it in check (most of the time) is a hairband.  The fancier the hairband, the better.  Today I am sharing a way to dress up those plain elastic hairbands to make them oh-so-cool.

I am a fan of the studded look.  It sorta gives things an edge and it is such a change from the usual flowery and glittery apparel we have here for Little Miss.  I was pleasantly surprised that she was a big fan of this new style.  She was such a fan that I got reprimanded when I snuck one of her bands to put in my own hair.

This project is super frugal too.  I grabbed the hairbands from the Dollar Tree.  The studs are from the dollar bins at Michaels.

Easy?  Forgettaboutit.  Push the studs through the  elastic, however many you would like, and bend the sharp points down to secure.

These would make a fabulous gift for that edgy, rock-star, girl in your life.  Enjoy!

    What a great idea! My preschooler would absolutely love these, but I think I might like them even more :)
