Happy Monday.  I feel like Spring is in fact finally here, which makes day to day life so much more cheerful.  The days are getting longer, the windows can stay open longer without us freezing, and the sunset is still streaming in a few windows a little when the kids go to bed at night.  As for the early, early morning (which I have been up for each day to go to the new job)…when it looks like this, it makes me just as cheery.

Getting crafty with therapy materials.  I have a basement full of bins of homemade therapy materials, yet still I make more…

Little Miss has a new accessory.  She has been such a good sport about it!

It’s that time of the year.  Brooklyn Summer is one of my favorite hot-weather, cook-out, front porch beverages.  I know I have to wait another 4 months to enjoy this part…the anticipation!

Going out for frozen yogurt in your PJs is awesome.  Getting to put whatever you want on frozen yogurt is awesome.  Gummy worms, Capn’ Crunch, marshmallow…

I found some fabulous geometric, shiny eggs at Target.  I love them.  I mean, I LOVE them.

Happy Spring feelings, all around.  What made you happy this week?

A new week…thank goodness.  Among all of the highs and lows this past week, I had the pleasure of the stomach bug that my kids had the week before.  UGH.  Now that it is gone (hopefully from our house for good), there is all sorts of things I am looking forward to.  Like SPRING!  I am hoping for some warmer weather here so that the real fun can begin!  In the meantime, here is last week via iPhone!

Color therapy!  Stay tuned tomorrow to see what fun coloring project I have to share.

Ronan took after his mother, about 13 years early.  Check out that magenta streak in his hair.  Yeah.  I did that once too.

The kids had “Wacky Wednesday” at school this week.  We call that Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday…you get the point.

This one is my favorite.  She has wild eyes!

The sickness set in and it was a day of popsicles in bed.

This card from my kids is priceless.  They keep talking about the dog with its head in the toilet.

Then just when you think you feel better…you don’t.

Saturday afternoon with the Muppets.  Twice.

Getting my money’s worth with this doily stamp.  I am so looking forward to sharing the details of the shindig this is for…

Lastly, a little bit of dress up makes the weekend complete.

Hope you have a fabulous, sun-shiny week!

Phew!  The kids and I are back home from CNY after a very full, very busy, and very satisfying week.  Although both kids had a couple of days of suffering through some sort of stomach bug, there was still plenty to do and plenty of fun to be had.  The sickness only slowed us down a little.  If you ask Moira, however, she has a laundry list of things that we didn’t get to.  It is true, there is always so much to do when we visit my family there that we almost always run out of time to do them all!  Some of the excitement–

Baking and lots of time in the kitchen.  Besides our Utica Chicken that we made (you can find the recipe here), we made Mr. CB’s Grandma Mary’s Irish Soda Bread…

…and Magnolia Bakery’s Banana Pudding.  Heaven!  We used this recipe here.

Moira had popsicles for breakfast.  She was so sick she didn’t even enjoy that!  Poor honey.

Once everyone perked up a bit, we did one of the many Kiwi Crates we have.  This one was a science kit that explored density.  The kids loved making the ‘potions’.

My mother and I got some wedding, shower, bachelorette planning done for my little sister.  Including booking the venue for the shower, which serves this amazing bread pudding!  I can’t wait to share the details of that event!

And what would a visit to Utica, NY be without a stop at Holland Farms Bakery for some Tomato Pie and Half-Moon Cookies?

Oh, look!!!  Half-Moon Madness.  Don’t mind if I do!

What is a Half Moon???  Oh, friends!  And please, accept no imitations!  (BTW, you can have Half-Moon Cookies delivered right to your door, straight from Holland Farms.  Dangerous!)

Once the kids felt better, we took them on their first bowling adventure!

bowling-ball bowling

They loved the cool shoes.

Mommy had some struggles here and there, but at the end of the day, when a Mommy sees this…all of the troubles melt away.

Then they wake you up at the crack of dawn…

Once we returned home, I found this!  Circus Berry is featured in the “It’s in the Details’ section of Mingle Magazine!  EEEEEEEK!

My Little Man surprised me with these little gifts on Saturday morning.  He is going to make some lady very happy someday…

Miss Moira finally got to try on her new dress that Gramma Donna got for her.  This girl is just GIDDY about fancy dresses!

Looking back through these pictures, it seems like it was such a crazy week!  We certainly did a lot.  It is nice to be home and to get back into the daily routines.  Hope your week is delightful!

Happy Monday and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  Ready for a new week?  The kids and I are spending a fun-filled, week-long adventure in CNY, visiting my family.  There are all sorts of wonderful things to do…to eat…while we are here that the kids and I both look forward to.  I can’t wait to share some of the excitement we get into!  In the meantime, here are some of the highlights and milestones of our past week, via iPhone:

Keeping busy while Little Miss is in dance class, with one of our favorites…the Mickey Mouse tracing activities from this post here.  This little lefty has gotten quite good at tracing.  It all happens so FAST!  And I decided I am DONE with boots.  That was, until the blizzard came.  Ugh!

Pretty neon trimmings…I use Post-its to color code and plan my blog posts and they are wonderful.  Except that I need to trim them to fit my calendar.  Love Post-its though!  How about you?

Sweet Potato Coins via Chef Moira.  She loves to look at cookbooks and she picked out this for dinner.  A girl after my own heart…

My Irish Food contribution this holiday–SCONES!  See how I accomplished my 6 month goal of recreating Irish Scones here!  Don’t forget the butter and jam!

Admiring this little man’s curls…cause someday he will probably want to shave them off or something crazy like that!  Seriously, that HAIR!

Simple St. Patrick’s Day treats, taking over my counter.

The road trip.  Car packed, snacks doled out…and hurray for in-flight movies!

…and Jelly Bellies.  I haven’t had Jelly Belly Jellybeans in so long, I forgot how fun they are to eat.  Now I want more.

THIS is what “I’m not even tired!  I don’t ever sleep!” looks like.  I had to document it to prove a point.

Some of the best CNY food upon arrival…local Friday Fish Fry.  Awesome.  And really healthy!

The Lego Movie…finally.

Life’s toughest decisions.  (I went with the Samoa.)

Pre-St. Patrick’s Day Shepard’s Pie.

The Antique Barn.  A MUST when I come to visit my Mom.  I never leave that place empty handed!

Mom’s antiquing find.  So pretty!

Have a great St. Paddy’s Day.  Drink a Guinness for me.  And have a full week!

Happy Day. Here is some of the goodies from this past week!

We started the week with Baby K’s first pictures.  So precious.  We did not find out if it will be a boy or girl…we love the surprise of it too much.

Post Dr. appointment breakfast with my man.

On the topic of not finding out the sex, I can’t stop looking and dreaming of these fabulous Neutral Newborn outfit ideas by Couture Colorado Baby.  There are such sweet clothes that can work for baby boys or baby girls.  See ya yellow duckies!

The Neutral Newborn

Cooking day using Once a Month Meals.  If you don’t, you should.  It is a bit of work, but this meal planning solution has literally changed our lives!

Still sticking with my disc bound planner for home, blog, work, and kids.  I really love it.  You can see how I use it in this post.  This has also changed my life.

Moira and Ronan made Calder Mobiles from one of their Kiwi Crates.  That subscription has turned out to be great decision.  Everything is included right there for you to do a quick and educational craft with your kids.  Big fan right here.  BIG.

Moira and Ronan learned that when the light hits the mobile, it shines little colored lights on the floor.  And then we start chasing and trying to catch them, pretending they are fairies…

Girls’ night out complete with a spicy shrimp pasta.  Baby K likes spicy.  Unfortunately, heartburn doesn’t.

Weekly breakfast date at our favorite spot.  Moira got a mint chocolate chip muffin that was as big as her face.

Sabotage.  These are seriously my weakness…

Lots of Ronan’s artwork from school came home this week.  He likes red.

Speaking of artwork…

I do love weekend mornings.  Thank you Mr. CB for the waffles.

Snow.  Oh, how I have had enough of you, snow.  Making the most of the last of the winter by collecting snow crystals…

And, OH…Ronan found Olaf’s hand!

Finally, waking up to find my son in his sister’s pink tutu skirt.  I have said it before, real men wear pink.

Hope you had a great week and weekend!
